New Year, New You

2020 had it’s downs but it also had its ups! Let’s welcome in the new year by setting goals, accomplishing those goals, and thriving. Have you made a new years resolution yet? No? Why not!??? It’s important to remember when creating your new years resolution to include your goals for the year, how you will accomplish those goals, and what you will do after you’ve reached your goals.

Let’s start by following a few quick steps to writing the perfect new years resolution.

Step 1: design your goals

Start by writing a list of 10 goals that you want to accomplish in the new year. Are you planing to improve your mental health? Are you going to work on your punctuality? Are you planning to cut caffeine out of your diet? Whatever your goals are, make sure they are meaningful and achievable. Your new years goals should be goals that will make a difference in your life.

Once you’ve written your goals down, circle your TOP 3 must-do’s for 2021. These 3 goals will be your primary aim for the new year. Now that you’re circled your primary goals, organize your list and arrange them in order of priority.

Step 2: how to accomplish your goals

The next step is to figure out how you’re going to accomplish your new years goals. Make a step-by-step plan for each goal. Let’s say you’re going to try and run 1,500 miles on 2021. This goal is meaningful because it’s great for your mental and physical health. This goal is also achievable if it’s within your physical limits.

Underneath this goal. Write your plan out. Will you be running 5 miles each week? At what time will you be running? Will you include a rest day within each week? Write it down and plan it out. This goal is only achievable if you have a plan for it.

Step 3: after you’ve started

Are you still working to accomplish your new years goals? Have you been following those steps? Designating someone to hold you accountable will help reach your goals. Find a friend, family member, co-worker or anyone to check in on you. Accomplishing your goals takes work and knowing you aren’t in this alone will help you achieve them.
